The Ministry of Education in Ghana has announced the nationwide rollout of AI-powered learning applications for more than 1.4 million Senior High School (SHS) students beginning in October 2025. The initiative aims to support teachers and students by enhancing digital learning across core subjects.
Designed with Ghana’s curriculum in mind, these AI tools work both online and offline, ensuring accessibility even in areas with limited internet connectivity. In addition to directly assisting students, over 7,800 SHS facilitators will receive training to help teachers seamlessly integrate the apps into classroom instruction.
Officials stress that technology is not intended to replace educators but to empower teachers with modern resources that improve learning outcomes and prepare students for the digital economy. Pilot testing has already occurred in hundreds of schools, revealing promising results in engagement and comprehension.
