This is Dadamishael and as promised this is a free review of the Laico Regency Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya.
En-route to Ghana I had to transit in the city of Nairobi, Kenya with two friends; Samuel Kwabena Osei and Nana Quame Highest. We decided to make it worth our while with a tour of the city and ended up passing the night at the Laico Regency Hotel.
We couldn’t spend much time and as a result didn’t see much because we had to leave very early in the morning to the Jomo Kenyatta Airport to continue our journey back home.
The Laico Regency Hotel is situated in the centre of Nairobi on the Uhuru Highway, Kenya
The main entrance to the facility is unassuming but once inside the walls of the hotel, you are blown away by the luxury it depicts with its exquisite craft, décor and paintings at the reception and concierge.
Guests are welcomed at the public area by classic and timeless paintings and craft from various artists of Kenyan descent which sets the facility apart from its competitors.
The Laico Regency Hotel, formerly the Grand Regency Hotel brandishes luxury and has a homely touch. The glamorous facility has a very nice view with see through elevators within its walls.
The facility has a nice restaurant area although it may not be the best you can find around but is good in my candid opinion with vibrant Kenyan inspired recipes lined up at the buffet table.
The facility’s Swimming pool was at a very comfortable temperature as at the time of our visit and much fun to take a dip in during the hot summer afternoons.
Staff are smartly dressed and ready to receive guests in various languages as the concierge section attendant tried to welcome us in French at the impressive reception area.
The rooms of the facility are spacious and features an airy contemporary design fully air conditioned with washrooms and standard bathtubs stocked with toiletries.
There was an excellent lighting system and internet service in the rooms we occupied.
Our overall impression of the facility was very satisfactory and will recommend it to other travellers.
